They have a a significant presence across the major states in Australia and offer a full-service approach to clients including across banking, employment & workplace, financial services, funds, real estate, technology, insolvency and dispute resolution. 

The firm is in a significant growth phase and it is envisaged that head-count will increase by around 30-40% over the next 2/3 years. 

Employment team 

Our client, a truly premier law firm, has one of the largest employment practices in the world, with Band 1 rankings across the globe. Given their footprint, they are able to easily assimilate multi-jurisdictional issues often working across borders, industries and practice areas to come up with innovative and progressive solutions for clients.
 
The Role

The firm is currently looking for an Associate (2-5 PAE) to join their developing practice.

This role will see you regularly advising on major workforce restructures, executive matters, M&A related employment integration advice, workplace investigation and the full suite of everyday employment issues including unfair dismissal, discrimination, restraint of trade and training and risk management workshops.

For those with a particular interest in the area, the team can also afford opportunities to gain exposure in executive remuneration and terminations, employee incentives, discrimination and workplace health and safety issues.

Required Skills 

Ideally you will have between 2 and 5 years’ dedicated broad employment experience gained from a commensurate practice or suitably high-performing in-house space. 

In addition, you will have a:

  • developing commercial acumen
  • fun, collaborative and high-performing approach, and 
  • a willingness to collaborate in a team structure and mentor more junior colleagues.
