In particular, our client’s progressive and dynamic Employment team are constantly evolving to the changing legal landscape, advising clients on compliance with local labour and employment laws, including complex issues involving Australia immigration law.
  
The Employment team
  
The premier Melbourne Employment team collectively provides the full range of workplace relations and employment law services and advise some of Australia’s leading corporations and businesses.
  
The ambit of work covered includes day-to-day human resources requirements, critical global business change projects, collective bargaining and works council negotiations, the development of robust industrial relations strategies, talent deployment strategies and related compliance and dispute resolution.
  
Position description
  
Owing to growth and a healthy pipeline of work, the Melbourne Employment team is looking to recruit a talented associate (with some flexibility to consider senior associate level candidates also).
  
The role will see you handling a broad array of employment matters including but not limited to:
  

  • the preparation of contracts and policies
  • advice about entitlements
  • restructuring advice and representation in disputes (dismissals, discrimination, post-employment restraints and confidentiality)
  • supply chain transparency, with a particular focus on labour law compliance and modern slavery in local and global supply chains
  • the development of industrial relations strategies and the making of enterprise agreements
  • representation in disputes, and
  • advising on work health and safety issues.

  
Requirements
  
To be successful for this role you must have at least 2 years’ post-admission experience and up to 6/7 years’ experience gained ideally from another reputable practice or suitable in-house space, covering a broad range of Employment matters (both transactional and contentious).
