We are working exclusively with an early stage Australian renewable energy business that are looking for an energy or construction lawyer with 6+ PQE.


We are working exclusively with an early stage Australian renewable energy business that is offering you the chance to join the team at a crucial stage and play an integral part in the company’s growth in Australia. 

They are looking for an energy or construction lawyer that has 6 or more years’ experience and a clear passion to work in the renewable energy industry.

This role reports directly into the General Counsel and gives you the opportunity to work closely with key stakeholders in the business on the origination, development and delivery of projects. Your Responsibilities
The role will cover, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Advising on energy projects to manage legal risks and requirements across the full life cycle of the projects.
  • Managing legal due diligence for the development or acquisition of energy projects.
  • Advising, negotiating and drafting a range of project agreements.
  • Working closely with the commercial and project delivery teams.
  • Staying abreast of the regulatory environment and legislative/policy changes relating to energy storage and renewables.
  • Instructing and working closely with external specialist lawyers.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 6+ years PQE gained in Australia as a Qualified Lawyer
  • Experience in a large or specialised law firm and/or in-house at an energy, construction or infrastructure company.
  • Experience advising on the development, construction and financing of large-scale renewables, energy, construction and/or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience implementing and improving regulatory, compliance and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong attention to detail in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of complex commercial contracts and managing transactional processes.
  • Flexibility to manage workflow and priorities across a pipeline of projects and deliverables, escalating issues where needed and briefing decision-makers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence key stakeholders in and outside the business.
