The British Virgin Islands, or “BVI”, is different in appearance and lifestyle to the Cayman Islands. There are far less hotels and restaurants and it is far less commercialised.  There are amazing beaches and scenery which makes the BVI an attractive destination for many celebrities, such as Richard Branson living on his famed Necker Island.

There is a strong expat community and very welcoming. To work in the BVI, you should be interested in outdoor activities such as diving, snorkelling, hiking, fishing and swimming!

The main island, Tortola, is where the law firms and financial services businesses are based. The BVI is a tax haven which has led to hundreds of thousands of companies being registered within the jurisdiction.

As a lawyer, you will enjoy good quality work and a highly favourable tax regime. Generally, you need to be England & Wales qualified to practice on the BVI. Salaries are similar to US law firms based in NYC, so you have very high earning potential.
